We know that there can be a lot of questions when you look to host a retreat at a facility. So, we thought we would get a few of the more frequently asked questions into one place!
We aren't a Catholic group. Can we use Eagle's Wings? Absolutely! We are a Christ-centered retreat center, hosting groups from many different denominations. Our only request for groups is that our Eucharistic Chapel on Main Campus and the Knights of Columbus Chapel at Eagle's Nest be reserved for private prayer and Catholic liturgies. What are the sleeping arrangements? On Main Campus, we have four dorms that sleep 36 each in bunk beds. On our Eagle's Nest Campus, the Lodge has two separate bunk rooms that sleep 28 each and Monahan's Bunkhouse, which sleeps 21. Attendees will need to bring either a sleeping bag or twin bedding for their stay, as well as towels and toiletries. We are bringing clergy/special guests to our retreat. Do you have a place for them to stay? We do! For our Catholic clergy, they are more than welcome to stay with Fr. Elmer at the Clergy Residence on Main Campus. Also on Main Campus, the Upper Room features 4 semi-private rooms that can be used for clergy or special guests during your retreat. At Eagle's Nest, there are two separate private rooms with ensuite bathrooms that can be used for clergy/special guests.
Additionally, we have all the necessary supplies to celebrate Holy Mass, including vestments, sacred vessels, and everything else! Do you have sound equipment in your meeting spaces? All our meeting spaces (The Holy Spirit Chapel and JPII Dining Hall on Main Campus, and the Lodge at Eagle's Nest) are equipped with A/V, including sound mixers and projectors with all the necessary hookups. What type of deposit is required to book a retreat? We require 25% of your total for your booking to be confirmed. This deposit is non-refundable.
Are we the only group on our campus? We have two campuses at Eagle's Wings, and only book each campus to one group at a time, so you will be the only group at your respective campus!
Do you have any special activities our group can do? We have a 10-element low ropes challenge course that your group can utilize at no additional charge but you will have to lead that activity independently using our low-ropes course guide. We also have countless other activities, including pickleball, basketball, soccer, gaga, 9 square in the air, and many hiking trails.
Do you have internet? We do! Though we are out in a rural area, we have Wi-Fi coverage in all buildings at both campuses. Please note that we have limited bandwidth so the more people on the network, the slower your media might load.
Is there a place to swim at Eagle's Wings? Unfortunately, we do not have any place to swim at Eagle's Wings. However, our friends down the road at Reveille Peak Ranch do and we'd be happy to get you in contact with them.
Can we have a bonfire? As long as Burnet County has not instituted a burn ban and there is not inclement weather (like high winds), we are happy for groups to use our bonfire areas. Please check here to see if there is currently a burn ban in Burnet County.
